These delicious, chili nachos are perfect for game night or any night when you’re in the mood to chow down!!
There’s just something about nachos that resonates with my soul. The salty crunchiness of the chips paired with zesty, seductive chili makes my spine tingle every time. And far be it from me forgo any spine-tingling experiences around here, so I just HAD to come up with a clean eating recipe for this!
I have to admit that skipping the dairy (I’m allergic) on this was tough. I missed the cheese. Just a little bit.But once I got passed it, I swear they were just as good… no, better, than any nachos I could order in a restaurant! Cheese or no cheese, I know you’re going to love them too!

Course: Appetizer, Main Course
Cuisine: Mexican
Prep Time: 20 minutes minutes
Cook Time: 40 minutes minutes
Total Time: 1 hour hour
Servings: 10 servings (approximate)
Ingredients
- 1 batch clean eating turkey chili (see recipe link above)
- 1 bag clean tortilla chips (see link above to make homemade – corn chips work too)
- 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese (shred yourself, the pre-shredded stuff isn’t clean)
- ½ lb. cherry tomatoes (halved)
- 4 cups chopped avocado
- 1 ½ cups fresh, chopped cilantro
- 1 tsp. cayenne (optional)
US Customary – Metric
Instructions
Make the chili according to the recipe.
Stir in the cayenne if you like a spicier chili.
When it’s done, you can take the optional step of using a hand blender to blend up the chili. It takes on more of a “chili-cheese” consistency that way. But it’s not necessary.
Pour a cup of chili over some corn chips and top with tomatoes, avocado and plenty of fresh cilantro!

I have seen two posts that talked about a new almond cheese. I have not tried it but maybe it would be a good addition to your recipe. Here is website for products but I’m not sure which stores sell it. http://lisanattifoods.com/

The corn tortillas I purchase regularly have calcium hydroxide, which I read is hydrated lime?…is that considered clean? PS: Your site has changed my life!
Reply
Nikki – Awww, thanks so much!
Calcium Hydroxide is not clean. Clean corn tortillas are very difficult to locate. But don’t give up. They ARE out there!
