Where to find beeswax in Final Fantasy 14? ›

Crafting. Beeswax can be crafted by alchemists as a level 10 recipe with the following ingredients: [Beehive Chip] x3. [Water Shard] x1.

Paraffin candles often combine their key ingredient with stearic acid (which is derived from animal fat) to toughen the wax and increase burning time. But beeswax candles naturally burn at a slower rate, giving them an excellent lifespan without causing harm to animals.

To render beeswax from the honeycomb, you must melt the comb in simmering water. The first step is to wrap your pieces of honeycomb in cheesecloth. This will filter out any solids in the comb, such as pieces of honeybees. Bring a large pot of water to a simmer, and carefully place your bundle of honeycomb inside.

Lit up, they look like warm golden globes and smell of honey. To make them, we dip the bottom half of an inflated balloon in melted beeswax 15-20 times. Then, once the wax dries (and the shell is nice and sturdy), we pop the balloon, peel it away from the beeswax, and place a tea light inside the lantern.

Pour the beeswax down as close to the center of the mold as possible and pour slowly and consistently until the wax slightly overflows the top of the mold. If you notice craters forming on the surface of the wax, continue topping off the candle with more hot wax until the candle is cooled.

Beeswax has the highest melt point of all waxes, which results in significantly longer (2-5 times) burn times and almost no dripping – and this can offset the higher cost. Beeswax candles emit a naturally bright light of the same light spectrum as the sun (Green Rhino Spectrum, Solar Spectrum).

The chemical composition of beeswax makes it both a structuring and plasticizing agent — meaning it can thicken solutions and thin others, depending on what it is combined with; this dual functionality makes it a highly effective agent in cosmetics, where both qualities are in demand.

Paraffin candles burn quickly, even with the addition of chemicals. Manufacturers add stearic acid ⁴ to increase burn time, but it's still not as efficient as beeswax. For example an average 3x6 paraffin pillar candle burns for approximately 60 hours, while our 3x6 beeswax pillar candle burns for more than 110 hours!

On the other hand, if you're looking for cost-effectiveness and a strong scent throw, paraffin wax is a suitable option.

Beeswax can be found in beehives, bought from Meggy in Castle Audunstede and looted from some enemies such as Young rebel peasants.

Honey/Beeswax - These can be harvested by cutting down beehives with an Axe. Be sure to run from the angry bees before collecting your items. Fir Planks - These can be harvested from trees with the Axe. Locked Crates - These can be opened with the Lock Pick and are located at points of interest.

There are several locations in the game, where bees can be found: The beekeeper in the western part of the village sells bees, honey and wax. There are also some (inaccessible) hives and two wild hives nearby. The apiary (or beegarden) is northwest of your home.

Bees will live here and produce honey and wax if surrounded by plenty of flowers. Build it at the garden Construction Table. Bee Hives are structures placed in the Garden that produce honey and beeswax over time.
